Our Initiatives

Crucible Foundation develops and supports programmes across education, scholarships, women and child development, youth wellbeing and community support.

Some initiatives will be undertaken directly by the Foundation. Others may be developed in collaboration with schools, colleges, community organisations, qualified professionals and implementation partners.

We intend to grow carefully and concentrate resources where they can create meaningful and visible outcomes.

INITIATIVE 01

Continuity in Education

Status: In Development

Helping children remain in school.

For many families, education becomes difficult not because a child lacks ability or motivation, but because the cost of continuing becomes impossible to carry.

The Foundation intends to support children whose education is at risk of interruption because of financial hardship.

Support may include:

  • school fees;
  • books and learning materials;
  • uniforms;
  • examination expenses;
  • transport;
  • other essential education-related costs.

The purpose is simple: where possible, prevent temporary financial difficulty from becoming a permanent break in a child's education.

INITIATIVE 02

Higher Studies Scholarship Programme

Status: In Development

Supporting ability beyond the point where affordability ends.

Crucible Foundation intends to provide scholarships for deserving students pursuing recognised undergraduate, postgraduate and other higher-study programmes.

Scholarships may support:

  • tuition fees;
  • examination expenses;
  • books and learning resources;
  • academic materials;
  • other approved education-related costs.

Selection criteria will consider financial need, academic potential and the student's ability to make meaningful use of the opportunity.

Eligibility, application periods and scholarship categories will be published when the programme opens.

INITIATIVE 03

Girls & Women in Education

Status: Proposed

Helping education continue when life interrupts it.

Education does not always follow a straight line.

Financial hardship, marriage, caregiving responsibilities, family circumstances and social conditions can interrupt the education of girls and women at different stages of life.

The Foundation intends to support:

  • girls at risk of discontinuing education;
  • women wishing to return to formal study;
  • women seeking further learning that can strengthen their independence and future opportunities.

Support may include scholarships, educational assistance, approved learning programmes and partnerships with organisations working directly in this area.

INITIATIVE 04

Youth Resilience Initiative

Status: Proposed

Supporting young people through periods of pressure and vulnerability.

The Foundation intends to support initiatives around mental-health awareness, resilience, suicide prevention and youth wellbeing.

Work may include:

  • awareness programmes;
  • educational initiatives;
  • community outreach;
  • access to appropriate support;
  • partnerships with qualified professionals and organisations.

Clinical, therapeutic or specialist mental-health interventions will be undertaken only through appropriately qualified professionals or partner organisations.

INITIATIVE 05

Community Access Programme

Status: Concept Stage

Bringing opportunity closer to communities that need it.

The Foundation intends to support local programmes serving women, youth, farmers and vulnerable communities.

The form of support may vary according to need and could include:

  • educational access;
  • community learning;
  • digital access;
  • skill-building;
  • livelihood-linked learning;
  • awareness programmes;
  • cultural initiatives;
  • community-building programmes.

Where appropriate, the Foundation may work with local organisations whose knowledge and presence make implementation more effective.

INITIATIVE 06

Crucible Ignitions

Status: To Be Introduced

Selected Crucible Ignitions — structured interventions delivered by authorised Keepers — may be made available through the Foundation to individuals or groups experiencing significant periods of pressure, transition or disruption.

Access may be offered directly or through supported Foundation initiatives.
